Explaining God's Word & The Good News Weekly
The last few years we have used in grades 1-6 handouts to help the children examine the Sunday gospel before Mass. Explaining God's Word is designed for grades 1-3, and The Good New Weekly is for grades 4-6. Often the teachers didn't have time to do this. This year we are giving them to the parents in six week batches so that parents can do this at home.
Please note that the final page of Explaining God's Word (grades 1-3) has a step by step explanation on how parents can use the handout in their home.
This is a way for the entire family to prepare for the Sunday Mass, and for parents to fulfill their vocation as "the primary educators in the ways of Faith".
Knowing that some families would rather work for a tablet, and also knowing that these handouts can be lost, we have scanned them and placed them on line. They are stored as a PDF containing both Explaining God's Word for Grades 1-3 followed by The Good News Weekly for grades 4-6.
The next batch of handouts have not yet been scanned.
